CAPTAIN Juma Seiko on Thursday lashed out at the Kapchorwa resident district commissioner (RDC), Tezira Jamwa, for having criticised him over the recruitment of 100 youths in the district.

Seiko said as a leader and chairperson of the district security committee, Jamwa had addressed the issue in a wrong forum.

The alleged illegal recruitment issue was raised at a recent district leaders’ meeting at Kooki Hall in Kapchorwa town.

“If she had any queries about the recruitment, why didn’t she summon me or address the issue in the right forum? That RDC is a spent force and has taken sides with some politicians in Kapchorwa,” Seiko said.

He was reacting to a story in The New Vision of March 27 in which Jamwa was quoted as having instituted a probe into an illegal recruitment of 100 youths in Kaserem and Kawowo sub-counties in Kapchorwa.

“The RDC should know that I was given that assignment by Government authorities whom I cannot disclose now. I consulted the LCs and the youths’ parents before taking them,” Seiko said.

He said the RDC should have checked her facts.
