THE Busongola South MP, Christopher Kibanzanga, yesterday asked the High Court to order the National Political Commissar and Minister without Portfolio Crispus Kiyonga to pay him damages.
Kibanzanga, a Reform Agenda sympathiser, said Kiyonga defamed him as a representative of the people. He said on March 17, 2001, Kasese town was attacked by suspected ADF rebels, who killed 11 people and burnt 52 vehicles in an attempt to burn two petrol stations.
He said after the Presidential elections, Kiyonga said the culprits were the MPs who campaigned for Kiiza Besigye.
Kibanzanga said he and another MP from Kasese were the only ones of the five MPs in Kasese district, who campaigned for Besigye.
