Bukedde newspaper, the Luganda leading daily has entered into a partnership with Wavah Broadcasting Services (WBS) Television to strengthen the popular Buganda cultural show, Omubala. Bukedde, is The New Vision’s sister newspaper.
Under the deal sealed last week, the Omubala host Tito Ssembatya, will ask viewers questions on the day’s issue.
Five people who answer correctly, will win Yellow Bukedde T-shirts. However, bigger prizes are in the offing.
The signing ceremony of the deal that became effective last Sunday durinng the 9:30pm 10:00p.m show, was witnessed by WBS TV executive director, Elvis Ssekyanzi, his marketing manager Kenneth Kazooba, Bukedde editor Maurice Ssekawungu, The New Vision circulation manager, Tom Wasswa, and the promotions manager, Rhona Kanabahita, at a brief ceremony held at the Spear House in Kampala.
“Since we are targeting the same market with Omubala, this synergy with the electronic media comes in handy. Bukedde which also handles Buganda cultural issues shall be complimenting Omubala,†Ssekawungu said.
Ssekawungu signed for Bukedde, while Ssekyanzi endorsed for WBS TV.
Bukedde will every Saturday highlight issues to be discussed in the following day’s show, while the host advertises on the front page of Sunday Bukedde.
