BUGIRI Woman MP Justine Kasule Lumumba has called on organisations involved in HIV/AIDS activities and individuals to present ideas to the parliamentary committee on AIDS to help formulate a law to protect infected people.
Henry Lutaaya reports that Lumumba said, “Myself, together with the 15 members of the committee have agreed to have a private members’ bill to protect people living with HIV against being stigmatised and discriminated.”
She said this while officiating at a function aimed at soliciting views on how to eliminate stigma against HIV/AIDS, at the Pan Africa Freedom Square in Kampala yesterday.
The event was among the activities organised to mark the International Red Cross week.
