A jilted soldier early yesterday morning ran amok and indiscriminately shot into a pub in Wakiso district, seriously injuring three people. This followed a dispute over a woman.
Scores of revellers were in Jona Nakiguli’s bar in Namasuba when the soldier, Private Stephen Mugalula, opened fire at 6:00am.
John Mutata, a taxi driver at Namasuba, and Stephen Bugembe, 28, of Lufuka zone and a boda-boda cyclist, were seriously injured, while Nakiguli sustained slight injuries.
Mugalula had reportedly stormed out of the bar after a scuffle with another man over the woman. He is said to have come back with a gun and sprayed bullets in the bar.
