There’s no Banyarwanda tribe please!

I have a problem with the perception of a “Banyarwanda tribe” in Uganda. Firstly, I am not aware of a tribe called Banyarwanda anywhere, not even in Rwanda itself. There are many Ugandans of Rwandese extraction who should be constitutionally recognised just as such.

Secondly, the term “tribe” denotes a nationality, to wit, the citizens of Rwanda. Until our Government sorts out the issue of dual citizenship, there is no way anyone can claim to be 100% Munyarwanda and 100% Ugandan at the same time. I wish the Constitution Review Commission and the Immigration Department, took note of these matters and acted accordingly.
