TWO of the 15 terror suspects who disappeared from Kigo Prison recently have been charged with escape from custody in the General Court Martial.
Moses Gidudu alias Ssenyondo and Benedict Simbwa appeared on Thursday before the military court presided over by Lt. Gen. Elly Tumwine.
The two denied the offence.
Gidudu, however, stunned court when he requested that he be remanded in Luzira Prison instead of Kigo from were he escaped.
“I wish I could be taken to Luzira Prison instead of being taken back to Kigo,†Gidudu who had trimmed his hair and wore a chequered T-shirt said.
The State concurred that it was in its interest that he be remanded in a place where he cannot escape.
Prison authorities were asked to ensure that Gidudu was transferred to Luzira as he had requested.
A total of 15 terror suspects on the morning of April 10 escaped from the heavily-guarded Kigo Prison, where they had been held pending prosecution.
