Leaders in Mulago and Kyebando suburbs in Kampala have asked parents to stop domestic violence, saying the practice increases the number of street children.
“Children are affected when their parents fight. Some run away from their homes when they are constantly beaten,†they said.
They recommended that parents set up income-generating activities so that children get basic necessities.
They were recently attending a workshop for local leaders at St. Martin Primary School Mulago.
