BUGIRI — The LC5 chairman, Siraji Lyavaala, has criticised the indecent dressing among girls, saying the behaviour has led to increased cases of defilement. He said the district ranked top in defilement cases in the country. He said more than 20 defilement cases are reported to the district police every month. He was presiding over the International Aids candlelight Memorial Day at Hindocha Primary School.

Body found
KAMULI — A decomposing body was recently recovered in Kasuku B village, Kidera sub-county. The Police suspect the victim could have died after committing suicide by hanging. The district Police commander, Fred Ssekiwere, identified the body to be that of Paul Mwanje, 45.

Block opens
SOROTI — The district recently commissioned a sh36m office block for the Uganda Red Cross society. The branch chairperson, Peter Emmanuel Eriaku, said the five-roomed office facility built with funds from the Norwegian and Swedish Red Cross societies. He said the regional branch office would help in coordinating Red Cross activities in the region.Ends
