THE formation of a continental body for African sports journalists was high on the agenda of the meeting of sports journalists from Africa.
The 66th congress meeting held in Portugal’s Porto Palacio Hotel yesterday was aimed at forging a way forward for the development of sports journalism in the world.
In the absence of Jug Goocool of Mauritius, originally chosen to coordinate the African affairs by AIPS, Tharcisse Harerimana of Burundi said the way forward had to be found for the better of Africa.
“It is because we lack an association that can help us speak with one voice that we have been left behind,” said Harerimana. Ends
