Aluminium Hollow-ware, makers of various saucepans, kettles and steel karai, have launched a ISO 9001-2000 programme to align its products with international standards.
Olivia Lukwiya, the Nemko (Uganda) general manager, said successful certification of the company will help it market its products to a larger international market. Nemko is an international standardisation company. Engineer B.B. Sinha, a consultant advised the 40 company employees to stick to the Nemko guidelines.
“Whatever you do document it and show confidence that you know your job best and in professional guidelines required internationally,†Sinha said.
He said the company launched the certification programme last February. Nemko is expected to audit the company in August and certify it in September.
