Bishop home
MPIGI — Sh250m is needed to build a new house for the Central Buganda Diocese bishop, Canon Jack Matovu, at Kasaka. Matovu recently said some building materials for the two-storey house were still needed. He said the foundation would be complete soon if the diocese gets funds.

Girl pregnant
KAYUNGA — The Police recently arrested Kibajiro Mutumba, 29, a youth councillor at Nazigo sub-county, after his his 13-year-old daughter was made pregnant. He denied the charges. The district Police commander, Moses Omalinga, said Mutumba’s brother reported the case.

Gospel
MUBENDE — The retired bishop of Mityana Diocese, Dr. Yokana Mukasa, has advised religious leaders to intensify spreading “the Gospel of repentance,” beginning with homes. He said this recently during the burial of the late the Rev. Eridadi Baguma, the former deputy headmaster of Mubende Parents School.

Youth told
MPIGI — The youth were recently advised to respect their culture and religion if they are to grow as respectable citizens. The Buganda minister for youth, Kabuuza Mukasa, said this while meeting members of Baganda Nkobazambogo from Nkumba University. The youths donated 5,000 bricks towards the completion of the Kabaka’s palace at Bbowa in Luweero.

Ebonies case
KAMPALA — Grace Katumba, 48, a suspect in the murder case of Ebonies Star Paul Katende, was on Wednesday remanded after prosecution said investigations were still going on. Katende was killed on March 28 2002.

‘Apply skills’
MPIGI — Students in higher institutions were recently told to apply the knowledge and skills acquired to develop their areas. Dr. Jack Luyombya, the board chairman of the Madhvani group, gave the advice while meeting Gomba county students.
