UNBS import fee abolished
KAMPALA – Government has scrapped the new 0.2% fee that Uganda National Bureau of Standards (UNBS) has been levying as inspection costs to limit sub-standard imports. Government last week decided to fund UNBS’s inspection actitivies.
KCC acts on poll tax cash
KAMPALA – Kampala City Council is to privatise graduated tax collection. Francis Rwego, the city finance secretary said last week, this would improve revenue performance. He said a Cabinet paper is in its final stages to formalise the changes.
