THE Cranes technical committee yesterday announced an 18-man contingent travelling to Kumasi for the make-or-break Nations Cup qualifier against Ghana without any shock omissions, reports Joseph Opio.
The squad that departs today by Kenya Airways is short on centre-forwards with only Express’ Hassan Mubiru and Villa’s Ekuchu Kasongo available up front.
Coaches Pedro Pasculli and Leo Adraa will no doubt find themselves spoilt for choice in the defensive department as Ibra Ssekajja, Timothy Batabaire and Bana Zidane compete for the central position.
Zidane, who missed the Rwanda game, might be pushed into a defensive midfield position as his game-reading and final touch make him comfortable in that department too.
Squad: I. Mugisha, H. Kalyesubula, P. Obwiny, G. Kateregga, P. Rwebuga, T. Batabaire, I. Ssekajja, S. Mubiru, B. Zidane, M. Nsubuga, P. Ssozi, A. Bajope, E. Watson (capt), H. Magumba, E. Kasongo, H. Mubiru, D. Obua, A. Tabula.
Officials: P. Pasculli, L. Adraa, G. Alberieux, S. Kabugo, F. Mukasa, S. Kinene.
