EMMANUEL Tumusiime Mutebile, the Bank of Uganda governor, officially introduced Roadmaster Cycles in Mbarara over the weekend, reports Ebenezer Bifubyeka. “I appreciate your successful competition as far as market is concerned in the East African region," he told Goyal Amrit, the firm’s managing director and staff on Saturday. Some 30 dealers of Roadmaster and bicycle spare parts rom the entire south-western Uganda were invited to the function. James Kyenga, a dealer of bicycles/spare parts in Kikagate at the Uganda-Tanzania border, won a new 22-inch Roadmaster bike worth sh85,000. Charles Tumusiime, a bicycle dealer, said Roadmaster is the only bicycle manufacturing plant in the Great Lakes region. “I call upon all of you to support Ugandan products to develop Uganda as well as yourselves. As a promotion strategy, we have reduced a 'box' of our bicycle products from Sh340,000 to 322,000 - a discount of sh8,000,†he said. Ends
