FUFA treasurer Patrick Isiagi, who resigned on Monday, has been convinced to return and resume his duties on the executive.
A FUFA emergency committee meeting, at the federation’s new headquarters in Mengo, persuaded him to reverse his decision on Tuesday.
“He was requested to continue with his services at the federation and he accepted,” FUFA secretary Haruna Mawanda told the press Lugogo yesterday.
“He is back and he is one of us. We held a long meeting yesterday (Tuesday) to address the issue of time. We decided to off load some work from him but keep him around. We felt that we still needed him and he is ready to work with us.”
Isiagi stunned the entire football community when he announced that he was quitting the job he had held for the last two years citing a busy schedule.
He recently moved from Kampala City Council to the ministry of finance.
FUFA president Denis Obua, who had received Isiagi’s resignation, chaired the meeting.
Meanwhile, FUFA officials are yet to hand over their accountability ahead of today’s deadline given the Inspector General of Government (IGG).
According to reports, FUFA is saying the letter was only a proposal written to the ministry of education and sports permanent secretary and copied to the president’s office and no official communication has been forwarded to the federation.

- The Nile Special Super League will be completed three weeks behind of schedule.
According to the new reorganised fixtures released by National Football League Committee (NFLC) secretary Justus Mugisha , the league will now end August 30 instead of August 8.
“The preparations for the Nations Cup affected us so much but we hope that there will be no more interruption in our programme this time round,” said Mugisha.
The league was postponed for more than four weeks to enable Uganda Cranes prepare for their ill-fated qualification campaign.
The giants resume on July 4 when Simba battle KCC while Express host URA at Wankulukuku the next day.
Unbeaten defending Champions SC Villa top the league table with 43 points from 15 matches, four points ahead of last year’s runner up Express.
The league’s new entrants Akol are languishing at the bottom of the table.
