BERLIN — Germany’s top-selling newspaper Bild splashed a picture on its front page on Thursday of a woman exposing her breasts in a protest against planned European Union rules it says will ban female nude images in the media.
Under a caption “I’m to be abolished!†pointing towards the woman’s breasts, Bild asked its readers: “Don’t EU bureaucrats have anything better to worry about?†Bild feared new EU sex rules might stop it showing photos of scantily clad women.
Woman trapped
MOSCOW — A woman whose arm became trapped in a carriage door was forced to run alongside a departing train in central Russia for 400 metres before the driver noticed. The police officer, head of a rail police station in the Volga region, said the driver did not immediately see that Galina Zlobina’s arm was trapped in the door of his train at Polivanovo station. After stopping the train, the driver opened the doors and freed Zlobina, 35, who was treated in hospital for a gash.

HELSINKI –– An adulterous Finn pressed all the wrong buttons as he made love in a car, unknowingly prompting his mobile phone to call home just in time for his wife to hear him moan “I love you†–– but to his mistress.
The wife, doubly enraged after hearing the voice of her friend in the background, has been convicted of assault after going to her rival’s flat and striking her in the face and later attacking her husband at home with an axe, though he fended off the blow. A court official said she received a 14-month suspended sentence for the attacks.
