Health state minister Capt. Mike Mukula has blasted UPDF critics over the recent Lord’s Resistance Army rebel incursion into Teso

Health state minister Capt. Mike Mukula has blasted UPDF critics over the recent Lord’s Resistance Army rebel incursion into Teso, reports Jonathan Angura.

“Anybody who criticises the UPDF should be shunned. The UPDF is the backbone of our security and soldiers are human beings like us,” Mukula said on Saturday.

Movement information director Ofwono Opondo at the weekend blasted the UPDF for what he called letting down the people of Teso. Speaking on the same Capital Radio talkshow, Gulu municipality MP Norbert Mao, criticised army spokesman Maj. Shaban Bantariza for not owning up to the mistakes of the UPDF.

Mukula, who was speaking at the launch of ‘Keep Jinja Clean’ exercise at Main Street School, said leaders in other areas do not pass information to the UPDF but make noise while in Kampala. But he said MPs from Teso returned to Soroti following the rebel attacks and mobilised the people against the attackers.
