UGANDAN Big Brother Africa (BBA) housemate Gaetano Kaggwa’s hyped relationship with his South African lover, Abby Plaatjes, appears to be in a crisis, reports Geoffrey Kamali.

After spending days avoiding her, Gaetano finally lay briefly in bed with her. The two last slept together on Friday, after his return from the BB UK house.

Gae has for the past few days openly rebuffed Abby’s appeals to sleep with her, much to the surprise of BBA show viewers and other housemates.

“Talk to my hand,” he told her as he stretched his hand in a rather brazen manner.
“Maybe you’ll get an answer from it.” The two lovebirds have for the last two weeks treated TV audiences in Africa and overseas to their steamy affair, sometimes leaving viewers wondering whether they had sex or not.

Yesterday, after lunch, the cameras showed Gae in bed, his face up. Abby was by his side, facing him but the two appeared to be worlds apart.

They later joined other housemates who were rehearsing circus tricks in the compound.
Trouble started last Thursday when Gaetano told the housemates on return from the BB UK house that he slept with Nush, a blonde housemate there. Abby, obviously smitten by jealousy, was not amused by the talk and later shouted at him to leave her room and leave her alone. Later, she asked him to tell the other mates that he did not actually sleep with Nush.

“Poor Abby has literally been begging her now chaste partner, Gaetano, to sleep with her. But he told her bluntly to forget about it,” the BBA website reported yesterday.

Meanwhile, BBA viewers will this week be treated to three days of a lively circus show by the housemates, before one of the three candidates is shown the exit on Sunday.

The three housemates facing eviction include Zein Dudha of Malawi, Tapuwa Mhere of Zimbabwe and Nigeria’s Adebayo (Bayo) Adetomiwa.

On Monday, colourful circus costumes were delivered to nervous housemates worried about the pending axe, bringing in a new wave of excitement.
