IT was a dream come true for Richard Masabe and runner-up Mary Awor, who won a house and 15 acres of land respectively, in the Property Masters’ marketing promotion on Saturday.
“I can’t believe this. I think this was God’s plan. I didn’t have any dream to build a house,†Masabe muttered when his name was announced at the Nile Hotel in Kampala.
The two said they regularly participated in the widely advertised nationwide win-a-house campaign. Awor was dumb-founded and occasionally buried her head in her hands. The land is at Mabale in Masaka.
“I am delighted to hand over this title to the person with the largest number of coupons by 30th June, Richard Masabe,†Patrick Kasulu (left), the Property Masters’ managing director declared, excited anticipation.
Kasulu then handed over two original land titles to the winners. He said a complete house was ready for Masabe’s occupation on block 185 at Kira in Namugongo.
Property Masters, a property development agency, has been running the promotion between April and June, this year.
Explaining how the promotion worked, Kasulu said, “Whenever one brought a client who is selling a plot, land or a house to Property Masters, that person would get sh100,000 and a coupon.â€
He said the management of Property Masters decided to recognise the contributions of the runner-up in the promotion, Mary Awor, who had seven coupons.
She got the original title deed and duly signed transfer forms to facilitate transfer of title deed of 15 acres at Mabale in Masaka.
Masabe when explaining how he accumulated the largest number of coupons said, “a prominent landlord a long Entebbe road asked him to find a buyer for his several plots of land. I brought the lad lord to property masters and his land was comprised of eleven plots. For each of this plots I was given sh100000 and a coupon this is how I emerged a winner,â€
Awor on her side said, she has been taking several landlords to property masters since the promotion started so by 30th June I had seven coupons.Ends
