State Minister for health in charge general duties, Capt. Mike Mukula is to sponsor the Teso youth football and netball cups. Mukula said that he would provide balls to each and every sub-county in Teso region for the youths to compete. Mukula announced the package during the 10th anniversary celebrations of Straight Talk foundation.

UGANDA Sports Press Association (USPA) will today unveil the main sponsor for the sportsman of the year 2002 gala set for July 25 at Speke Resort Munyonyo. The unveiling function will be held at Speke Hotel at 10.30am, according to USPA boss Joseph Kabuleta.

EXPRESS wingback Richard Malinga has finally started training with the rest of the squad following an eight-month injury lay off. Malinga, whose sh8m move from KCC FC to Express FC in the 2000 league season made him Uganda’s most expensive local soccer asset, has taken to the field in high spirits to support Express’ wobbling fight for the league crown.

Yellow House of Taibah Junior School was the winner of the school’s sports day competitions that were held on Saturday. Green, Red and Blue followed in that order. Yellow received a trophy and a bull as a reward for their tireless efforts in the different games all houses participated in.
