BUSHENYI – The environment state minister, Lt Gen. Jeje Odongo, has assured forestry staff that they will not lose their jobs during the restructuring of the forestry department. Speaking at the recent launch of a visitors’ centre at Kalinzu forest, Odongo said the National Forestry Authority would take up some of the staff.

KASESE – Uganda ranks 7th among the highest inland fresh water fish producers in the world, a fisheries department commissioner has said. Francis Kizza was recently presenting a paper on the conservation of fisheries resources of Lake Edward, at a meeting of government officials at Bwera Teachers’ College.
