THOUSANDS of mourners on Monday thronged Yokolo village in Nabuyiga sub-county, west of Tororo, for the burial of John Apollo Ofwono, formerly the tallest man in Uganda.

Ofwono died of diabetes at the age of 43 in Mulago Hospital last Friday.

His burial expenses were met by the 3R International Company Limited, which he worked for as a promoter of dry gin.

The mourners were, however, disappointed that the gravediggers in Yokolo had under-estimated the length of Ofwono’s coffin.

The long coffin could not fit in the grave.

This forced the gravediggers to make adjustments to the beautiful grave decorated with spotless white wall tiles with marble edges.
