NATHAN Mutenza’s goals helped KCC overtake Masaka LC to the third Nile Special Super League table position with a superior goal difference.

The winger hit a brace as KCC routed Akol 5-0 during yesterday’s encounter at Nakivubo stadium, to carry them at 38 points.
Masaka managed a draw at Recreation ground to also amass 38 points.

Henry Kabeta, Vincent Kayizi and Abbey Mayanja’s apiece completed KCC’s assignment as Akol registered 12 conceded goals in two consecutive matches.
The Lira based club had on Thursday fell to Police 7-0.

Yesterday’s results brought the number of goals conceded by Akol to 58 in 21 encounters. They lie at the table bottom with seven points and a solitary win.

The absence of veteran defender George Ssemwogerere from Masaka LC continued to haunt them as they were held by Simba to a one-all draw.

After a barren first half, striker Sam Nadduli put Masaka in the lead at recreation ground before their defender, international Sam Mubiru, brought down dangerous Simba striker Jimmy Ssewankambo for referee Ali Kalyango to award a penalty. The spot kick was successfully executed by Fred Tamale.

Ssemwogerere’s absence has cost Masaka LC and the fans have already demanded for an explanation from the team managers.
