Our tall Ofwono is dead

John Paul Ofwono, the tallest man in Uganda is dead. Ofwono who is also believed to have been the third tallest man in the world, died at Mulago Hospital in Kampala last Friday evening.

John Paul Ofwono, the tallest man in Uganda is dead. Ofwono who is also believed to have been the third tallest man in the world, died at Mulago Hospital in Kampala last Friday evening.

Ofwono, 33, was suffering from diabetes, high blood pressure and a swelling in the brain, a condition that causes excessive growth of the hormones making people grow very tall.

Ofwono’s doctor said he had inadequate insulin (a hormone).

Ofwono measured 7feet 6.5inches tall and weighed 143kg.

was the tallest man at 7feet 8.9inch tall.

The tallest living woman in the world is Sandy Allen. Allen is 7feet 7inches tall.

Records also reveal that the tallest man and woman to ever live, are Robert Wadlow of United States and Zeng Jinlian of China who died at the age of 17 in 1982.

She suffered from curvature of the spine. These tall people die between the age of 16 and 30.
