Sh4m taken MASAKA – A security guard attached to Task Force recently put at gun- point workers of Simba-MTN shop in the town and robbed them of sh4m. Bosco Obina, who was guarding the shop on Elgin Street in the town centre allegedly turned against the workers at about 8.00pm, when they were balancing books.
Opium crash WAKISO – The Police in Kasangati recently launched an operation against opium consumption, following a public outcry. Two notorious suspected wholesalers of opium in Gayaza trading centre were apprehended. The Police said they received numerous complaints about the habit spreading among students, including girls.
More girls KABALE – About 60% of students enrolling for secondary education in rural schools are girls. The deputy headmaster of St. Barnabas SS Karujanga Augustine Orikiriza said many parents were beginning to appreciate the importance of educating girls.
