The Crane Access USPA Gala 2003 is set for tomorrow at Speke Resort and country Club Munyonyo.

The Crane Access USPA Gala 2003 is set for tomorrow at Speke Resort and country Club Munyonyo.
The gala, sponsored by Crane Bank, Speke Resort, Nile Breweries, Coca-Cola, Challenge Air, Property Masters, Moses Kalungi, Katumwa Sports Centre, Scandinavian Express Service, Emperor Orlando, Namboole Group executive car hire and Uhuru Restaurant will see the crowning of individuals that excelled in different disciplines this year.
USPA awards are monthly (12) and for every discipline(22). Below are the winners in their respective sports disciplines.
Athletics
Dorcus Inzikuru
Inzikuru set three national records, had a fourth place finish in the Commonwealth Games, got silver at the Africa Senior Athletics Championship.
Basketball
Isaac Afidra
The Power forward who averaged 23 points in the FUBA-MTN basketball league.
Bodybuilding
Stephen Serumagga
Sserumagga stopped the reign of Isaac Nsumba as Mr. Kampala.
Boxing
Joseph Lubega
Lubega got a Commonwealth silver, and a gold medal in the Kings AIBA tournament.
Football
Philip Obwiny
Obwiny Versatile and match winner for SC Villa and Cranes.
Chess
Stephen Kawuma
The URA player was Uganda’s best performer at the Olympiad.
Cricket
Junior Kwebiha
Ugandan captain Kwebiiha was man of the series in the Castle Lager Cricket league.
Golf
Deo Akope
Won an historic third straight Uganda Open title. Also lifted Rwanda Open title.
Motor Rally
Charlie Lubega
No driver could match Charlie Lubega’s prowess. The sportsman for the year 2001 won the national championship for the third consecutive time.
Rugby
Robert Seguya
Helped MTN Heathens win the league, sevens and Uganda Cup and spurred Uganda against Kenya and to the CAR title against Botswana.
Tennis
Patrick Olobo
An upcoming star who was able to stop veteran John Oduke’s reign.
Volleyball
Agatha Balidawa
Was instrumental in helping Namagunga end Nabisunsa’s dominance on the schools scene.
Weightlifting
Harriet Namusoke
Namusoke finished seventh over all in the Commonwealth Games in Manchester.
