Twenty-two of the most beautiful girls in Uganda, but at the end of the night there will be only one winner. But who will it be? Who will be wearing the crown as Miss Uganda 2003?

Will Eva Asasira do what Dr. Rehma Nakuya did last year, come from being Miss Western to win the national title? Will it be first time lucky for Shamim Kugonza who could become the first Mutooro to become Miss Uganda?

Will Julian Akisa take over from where Lillian Acom left as the second Miss Uganda from Teso? Or will the girls from Kampala again dominate?

As the third edition of the Miss Uganda beauty pageant organised by Sylvia Owori takes place tonight at the Speke Resort, Munyonyo, speculation is rife as to who the new beauty queen will be.

Last year, 18-year-old Leila Farid was the people's choice after winning the MTN's SMS competition, but she did not feature even in the top ten contestants. The contest is wide open.

Meanwhile, Miss Uganda Ltd. has announced that the show will start promptly at 8:00pm, unlike last year when it started late due to a cocktail for the VIPs.

“We want to give the people their money's worth, at the same time not inconvenience them so we will start right on time,” Sylvia Owori, Managing Director of Miss Uganda Limited said yesterday. “The show will last for about three and half hours, and each minute will be packed with entertainment.”

Dinner for the VIPs will be served from 7:00pm, and as soon one is shown a table they will be called for the buffet.
