Bukenya to fight poverty
MASAKA – The Vice-President, Prof. Gilbert Bukenya, has said he is going to launch a campaign to fight against poverty at family level. He asked district authorities to urge people to start adding value to their produce by initiating processing factories so that they can earn more. He was addressing farmers and residents at the trade show held at the Liberation Square over the weekend. The vice-president said farmers get little profits from their produce because they sell in raw form. He said products were sold back to them at higher prices after processing.
