Mozambican ruling party (Frelimo) secretary general Alberto Guebuza arrived in Uganda yesterday for a three-day visit.

He is slated to meet President Yoweri Museveni in Rwakitura today.

Guebuza flew in aboard South African Airways and was met at Entebbe Airport by National Political Commissar and minister without portfolio Dr. Crispus Kiyonga.

Kiyonga said Guebuza, leading a four-man delegation, was here on an exchange programme to strengthen the relations between Frelimo and the National Resistance Movement.

Frelimo, the Front for the Liberation of Mozambique, is a model system for the Movement. Museveni trained in guerilla warfare in Mozambique. Several other NRA fighters were also trained by Frelimo.

Guebuza said at Entebbe that the relationship between the Movement and Frelimo has a long history.

Kiyonga was flanked by Movement directors Magode Ikuya, Latigo Olal and Alice Muwanguzi.

The delegation toured Victoria Flower Farm in Entebbe before moving to Kampala.

They are expected to meet Speaker Edward Ssekandi and Movement vice-chairman Moses Kigongo.
