2 die in taxi accident
Iganga – Two people died and 14 others injured when a mini-bus UAE 471L rammed into a tree on the roadside last week. The accident occurred at Kakongoka village, Bukoona sub-county on the Iganga-Tirinyi-Mbale highway. the district officer in charge of traffic, Andrew Ejoyat, said the driver of the Coaster bus was speeding before the crash.
Muloki gets X-mas gift
JINJA – The Kyabazinga of Busoga, Henry wako muloki, recently received two Ankole cows as a Christmas gift from the Jinja deputy RDC, Andrew Kameraho, at the Nakabango palace. muloki said cows were significant in cementing the relationship between people of different cultural backgrounds as well as being a sign of wealth.

BUSIA – Busia South MP Simon Mayende has advised his people to form groups and join NGOs so as to fight poverty. Mayende was at a fundraising for Bunyadeti Catholic Church in Buhehe sub-county recently.

IGANGA – efforts to hold a party to honour Dr. Specioza Kazibwe by her constituents in Kigulu South have hit a snag over cash contributions. the constituency chairman, Abdullah Balunywa, said headteachers were meant to contribute sh100,000 each, while sub-counties would pay sh1m. sources said the headteachers have declined to pay, saying it was hard to account for the unbudgeted funds.
