TWO men were on Friday charged and remanded over the abduction of two Indian children kidnapped last Sunday.

TWO men were on Friday charged and remanded over the abduction of two Indian children kidnapped last Sunday.

Stephen Wandera, 29, an accountant with Dott Services Ltd, and Musa Mubiru, 25, of Nabutiti Zone in Kansanga, Kampala, were charged with kidnapping with intent to procure a ransom.

Buganda Road Court Magistrate Richard Mafabi told them that their case was only triable by the High Court.

He remanded them in Luzira Prisons till September 25.

The two allegedly kidnapped Sirisha Munnangi, 8, and Sunny Sai Ruth, 9, daughters of Reddy Sitaram and Prasad Reddy respectively, on September 7 at Kololo airstrip in Kampala.

The kids were abandoned at a petrol station in Nateete, a day after their kidnap after the kidnappers made Sitram, the Dott Services Managing Director, to pay a ransom of sh150m in order to get back the children.

The Joint Anti-Terrorism Taskforce and the police arrested the t men and recovered sh43m and $38,000 in a bag from Mubiru’s house in Nabutiti zone, Makindye, a city suburb.
