Cattle on quarantine
BUNDIBUGYO — The ministry of agriculture, animal industry and fisheries has banned cattle movement in Rwebisengo, following an outbreak of contagious bovine plauropnemonia (CBPP) in the area. In a recent statement from the commissioner of livestock health and entomology, Dr. CR Rutebalika, all district veterinary officers in the districts neighbouring the DR Congo have been directed to ensure the ban is adhered to.

Museveni bull missing
FORT PORTAL — One of three bulls donated by President Yoweri Museveni to the Toro Kingdom last month has been stolen from the palace. The bull went missing last week. A kingdom official, Clovis Mukonjo, on Saturday said sh500,000 had been put up for anybody with information on its whereabouts. The bulls were handed over to the Queen Mother Best Kemigisa for cross breeding to improve quality of cattle.

Man held over sh82m
KAMPALA — A storeman was yesterday charged and remanded IN Luzira Prison for embezzling over sh82m from the Directorate of Water Development. Alex Lomoro, 47, is also facing charges of causing financial loss to the ministry of Works. Lomoro appeared before Nakawa Court Grade One Magistrate, Namata Nsibambi, and denied the charges. The magistrate did not allow him to apply for bail due to lack of jurisdiction.
