Rogers Musinguzi was beaten to death and his colleague Moses Nabamba was saved by the Police who wrestled him away from the mob at Masanafu in Kasubi. The Police said the two were part of a group of five gangsters.

Cops start new project
KAMPALA — Luweero and Wandegeya Police stations are to be fully facilitated as model stations in a pilot project by the force to gauge how effectively the Police can executive their duties when fully facilitated. A source at the Police headquarters said yesterday the pilot project would take off after the return of a 10-man police team that recently left for a study tour in Malawi.

UHRC Commissioner Aliro Omara on Friday, while speaking at a rights workshop, said denying workers a minimum wage as required by the law worsens the situation.

Tout fined sh50,000
MUKONO — A UTODA taxi broker at Kayunga taxi park has been sentenced to a fine of sh50,000 or six-month imprisonment for stealing a book from a student. Court heard that Isma Rwabukumba stole a book belonging to a 17-year-old girl with the intention of enticing her to his home, where he reportedly wanted to induce her into sex.
