NETMARK, a US-based organisation has started a multi-million media campaign to promote the use of Insecticide Treated mosquito Nets (ITN) in Uganda.

NETMARK, a US-based organisation has started a multi-million media campaign to promote the use of Insecticide Treated mosquito Nets (ITN) in Uganda.
The programme, which started on Monday will last till March 2004.
Netmark is an African regional programme aimed at reducing malaria.
It will spend over $300,000 (about sh600m) in promoting the nets.
Selane Themba, the director in-charge of Netmark advertising, said the adverts would run on two TV stations, nine FM radio stations and newspapers.
“Road shows will also be used to bring the nets nearer to the people,” he said.
Quality Chemicals, Parma Net, Iconet and Safi Net are its partners.
Netmark director Dr. Will Shaw said, “We want to educate people about the nets. Malaria is a major killer disease in Africa.”
