KAMPALA — Nakawa Court Chief Magistrate Margaret Mafabi on Friday issued a warrant of arrest against a man, Charles Walugembe Kanogo, charged with obtaining over sh37m by false pretence. Walugembe, allegedly obtained the money from Najjuuko Mutebi, saying he would treat her and the family against her late husband’s ghost attacks.

Police studies preachers
KAMPALA — The Police yesterday said they would meet to discuss street preaching. This follows several complaints that the preachers, who have captured strategic corners on city streets, have turned into a nuisance. The city Police chief, Benson Oyo- Nyeko, yesterday said they would move very cautiously to handle the matter.

Bishop to be consecrated
MBARARA — North Ankole Diocese Bishop John Muhanguzi will be consecrated on October 30. The Ankole Diocese bishop, the Rev. Elisha Kyamugambi said the function would be held at Rushere Archdeaconry in Nyabushozi county. Kyamugambi also attacked government officials for embezzling the donated funds meant for purchasing drugs for the referral hospitals.

Expectant mothers told
MBARARA — The district co-ordinator for prevention of mother-to-child transmission of HIV programme, Dr. Benon Mugerwa, has advised pregnant women to get voluntary counselling and HIV testing. Mugerwa said this recently during an AIDS drama show at Mayanja Memorial Nursing Home n Mbarara town.
