The bishop was laying a foundation stone at St. Andrew’s Church of Uganda Ngomannene, Mpenja sub county Mpigi last month. “These days we are likely to have more carbondioxide than oxygen as a result of cutting more trees for charcoal and timber,” he warned.

Tree planting mov’t formed
KABALE – Youths have formed a tree planting movement to fight unemployment and environmental degradation in the district. The chairperson of Kashambya Youth Association, Bruce Twikirize said they plan to earn incomes from the sale of wood and timber when the trees mature. He said they would plant the trees on the bare hilltops that Kashambya sub county allocated to them. Twikirize said they zeroed down on tree planting after looking for paid employment in vain.
