UGANDA ranks second largest consumer of Swissgarde products in Africa Jason Christie, the East African Swissgarde operations manager has said.
Swissgarde is a South African company that deals mainly in beauty and health care products.
He said women contribute the largest percentage making Uganda 2nd to South Africa.
“Out of 20 top Swissgarde distributors in Uganda 18 are women who are mostly widowed and are trying to get extra income,†said Christie.
Christie was speaking on Thursday during a seminar organized by Swissgarde on how to start your own business at their offices in Kampala.
He said that many women in the past have lost their husbands due to AIDS and wars making Swissgarde Uganda women much stronger as they endeavor to support their families. Ends
