WAKISO district chairman Eng. Ian Kyeyune has reported to Kabaka Ronald Mutebi (right) that district chairpersons from Buganda are divided to the detriment of the progress and unity of the kingdom, writes Vision Reporter.
Kyeyune, who is also the chairman of district chairpersons in Buganda, said lack of unity among district chairpersons would affect organising kingdom functions because some districts would not co-operate with the hosts.
“In future some districts may fear to host such functions because they are very expensive. Some districts do not render a hand. I wish to report to you (Kabaka Mutebi) that no district has helped us in organising the Bulungi Bwa Nsi celebrations,” Kyeyune said.
He was at the 6th Community Day celebrations for Buganda kingdom at Ssentema sazza headquarters in Busiro, Wakiso district on Wednesday .
Kyeyune requested the Kabaka and Katikkiro Joseph Ssemwogerere to often meet the district leaders from Buganda to strengthen their relationship.
“If district chairpersons in Buganda are not united it could have adverse effects on the kingdom,” Kyeyune said.
He said the youth had left community work to the elderly.
