By Justin Moro Destitute and homeless old women who spend the night at the Gulu bus park will each receive a blanket from the district rehabilitation office. The district rehabilitation officer, Bernard Ocen, told The New Vision last week that his office will distribute 128 blankets to homeless elderly women, most of whom spend nights on the streets. He said the war against Kony had taken the spotlight away from issues like the plight of the aged in society. He added that most non-governmental organisations only provide for children and women. “We are going to distribute blankets to these old people who have been neglected by their relatives or who do not have anyone to help them. They are the forgotten victims of the war,†Ocen said. Ends
