UGANDAN New York based professional boxer Justin “The Ugandan Destroyer” Juuko (right) has landed a world title shot against WBC super featherweight Jesus “El Matador” Chavez at the Frank Erwin Center in Austin, Texas on November 21.

Juuko, 31, has been preparing for the fight in London. He landed the fight after a four year lapse — the last one coming in 1999 against then champion Floyd Mayweather Junior.

The Ugandan pugilist’s promoter Bob Arum made the announcement at a press conference at the Frank Erwin Centre on Tuesday.

The fight will be shown live on the Hispanic pay per-view channel Telefutura.

Juuko, who is 39-7-1(28 KOs) is riding off three successive wins against Tanzanians Godfrey Mawe and Venance Mponji and Kenya’s Geoffrey Munica.

Chavez is the new World Boxing Council (WBC) 130-pound title holder. He won the world title in August after a unanimous decision over Thai Sirimongkol Singmannassuk.

In his 12-year illustrious career, Juuko has slugged out with some of the best in the boxing ring. They include hotshot Miguel Cotto of Puerto Rico, Carlos Hernandez from El Salvador and Mexicans Ernesto “Baby” Zepeda and Diego “Chico” Corrales.

The Mexican fighter is 40-2-0 (29 KOs).

Juuko will however. have to lower his weight to match his opponent. He has been fighting as a lightweight in his previous fights.
