FORMER Express captain James Odoch, now turning out for APR in Rwanda, is back home for holiday. He returns next month when the 2003/2004 Rwanda league begins. "I am home for a rest, our league has just ended and our club was eliminated in the champions league" said Odoch. He was positive he could return to Cranes if invited.

Rubaga gala
Rubaga league organisers have set October 30 as deadline for registration of clubs intending to play in their second division league. Ten teams have so far registered for the league that kicks-off November 1. Organising secretary Edirisa Kasalirwe said only two teams are still expected.

CRICKET: Grass wickets
THYS Carstens from South Africa arrived yesterday as guest of Uganda Cricket Association. He is an official with Perfect Bounce Company that installed grass wickets in South Africa and Namibia. He will install grass wickets at Lugogo, Entebbe and Jinja ovals ahead of the three-day intercontinental meet next year.

SOCCER: URA drops
NILE Special Super League side URA has dropped right winger Patrick Kimuli and centre back Ronald Nsamba. Coach Jackson Mayanja said the duo were unfit and under performed last season. Kimuli and Nsamba featured in less than half of the tax men's league games in the entire 2002/3 season. URA resumes training for 2003/2004 season at Mandela National stadium, Namboole on Thursday.
