Stanbic Bank Fort Portal branch has introduced an ATM service.
“It has helped solve the problem of crowds. The crowds are slowly but surely disappearing,” Daniel K. Nsibambi (right) the bank’s communications manager said over the weekend. Customers can now withdraw on a 24-hour basis.
In the past depositing and withdrawing has been a nightmare at the bank especially at the end of the month when civil servants of Kabarole, Kamwenge and Kyenjojo are paid salaries.
Nsibambi said only sh10,000 is needed to open up an ATM savings account and sh50,000 for a current account.
The introduction of the ATM service follows continuing moves by Stanbic to up-grade the former Uganda Commercial Bank operations by having a countrywide computerised network.Ends
