Sebunya lifts Isuzu Open title

KIWE Sebunya playing off handicap eight shot a final round 71 nett, to win the inaugural Isuzu Open Golf tournament at Kitante on Sunday.

Sebunya (141 nett) ascended to the top after day one leader Kaka Matama and other top contenders dropped down the leader board as the going got tough at the par-72 course in the closing round.

“I thank everybody for having played worse than me to enable me win. I am also grateful to the sponsors for funding the tournament,” a jovial Sebunya said.

Seasoned John Waigo (148nett) was all smiles after beating Patrick Kabogoza on count-back to win the group A accolades.

Margaret Turya won the ladies group A after carding 138nett.

Disan Kigozi came within a foot for winning an Isuzu Corsa that that been staked for whoever fires a hole-in-one on the par-3 (220 yards) hole number 11. East African General Motors and Kampala Auto Centre sponsored the tournament.

Meanwhile Baht Popat won the Guru Nana tournament at Entebbe Golf club.
