Natasha: So you are the guy who wants to marry my sister? (giggles) Anyway let’s make this fast (looking at watch), I have about 30 minutes.

QUESTION: Who are you targeting in this forthcoming fashion show?
Answer: I am targeting a certain class of people. The people with a discerning eye for things.

And who are these people?
Business people, fashion retailers and whoever is interested in fashion.

Any details about the show?
Yes, it’s going to take place on December 12th at Speke resort Munyonyo.
The president is going to be the guest of honour.
It is sponsored by MTN, Kampala Casino and Speke Resort Munyonyo.

Where do you get this inspiration for fashion? As a kid did you ever aspire to be a fashion designer?
Not really fashion per se but I knew that I would do something artistic.

How much influence did your parents have on the fashion path you chose?
Not so much influence, they just let me be a designer, they gave me the freedom.
I know some parents have an influence on what their children should be doing, but mine did not stifle me at all.
Do you at times wear your own clothes?
Yes, I do (with a smile) I even dress my entire family –– my mother, sisters and kids.
How about Daddy?
Well….. may be a shirt or two.
So tell me, what should we expect at The House of Kaine Fashion Show?
Glamour and style.

How many people does House of Kaine employ?
About six people

Do you work 12 hours like some of us?
A: Remember I am a mum so I have to have time for my newborn child
I mean, ordinarily
Not really, sometimes I work from home, I am generally a home person.

So do we see a Natasha sitting on a sewing machine and pedalling it like there’s no tomorrow?
A: No. It’s more like a Natasha standing over a drawing table and mapping out those designs.

Is your dad (The President) a fashion person?
No, he’s not.

Then how did you manage to convince him to be the guest of honour at your Show?
I just told him that I was doing something and I wanted him to come and see.

Just like that?
Yes, just like that! (she looks at her watch) I’m sorry I have to go...
One last question
Please, make it one

Tell, me; When you want to invite the president for any of your functions. Do you also go through protocol?
Ha ha ha ha ha …. You are so funny.
