DENIS Musali, the winning captain of Busoga College Mwiri, has been summoned to bolster the national U-19 squad.

DENIS Musali, the winning captain of Busoga College Mwiri, has been summoned to bolster the national U-19 squad.

Musali missed last month’s World Cup qualifiers due to academic commitments. He will be joined by other newcomers Godfrey Luyuyo, Hilary Mabike and David Kateyenge.

Uganda and Papua New Guinea, who qualified in Namibia last month, have started preparations for the World Cup slated for Bangladesh in February.

Uganda will play against South Africa, England and Naples in the qualification rounds that start February 15 in Dhaka.

The squad will travel to South Africa and Zimbabwe for trial matches next month prior to the championship.
Meanwhile, Uganda is set to host the third edition of the regional International Cricket Council (ICC) age group tournament next month.

The East African championship will involve the U-17 boys teams and the open women squads from Uganda, Kenya and Tanzania.
