CLIFTON packaging, a UK-based firm owned by Sheikh Khalid, a Ugandan of Asian origin, is the winner of the ‘Business Innovation Award’ in the first-ever London Business Awards 2003.
The awards, that included ‘Entrepreneur of the Year’ category, were organised by the London Chamber of Commerce. They were sponsored by the accounting giants, KPMG.
According to the UK’s Evening Standard online version, Clifton Packaging was recognised for its innovation for resealable packets for biscuits.
“This has been a remarkable year for Clifton as we reached the finals of every award entered. We share this success with our clients who vested their confidence in our innovative packaging solution,” said Khalid in a statement.
“The judges were grateful to Clifton Packaging for solving the age-old problem of biscuit going soft,” added the release.
