By Patrick Opio Rubaga Hospital has received medical equipment worth sh10m as a gift in honour of late Premier George Cosmas Adyebo.
Dr. Barbara Marker, a German medical doctor, donated the equipment in remembrance of her almnus at St. Charles University in the Czech Republic.
Adyebo pursued his Masters degree in Economic Engineering from the university.
Marker expressed shock to the death of Adyebo, who died of cancer in November 2001.
Marker, a specialist in cancer treatment, in a letter to the hospital administration and Adyebo’s wife Nelly, said she had good time with the former Premier.
She said she used to exchange correspondences with Adyebo while he was alive.
Adyebo's wife and children handed over of the equipment to the hospital recently.
The equipment included a milpor, used for intravenous purposes and to purify solutions used on patients.
Other machines can be used to purify oxygen for patients who need it.
A medical officer at the hospital said the number of patients seeking such services had greatly increased.
