EMBATTLED Muhabura Diocese has once again rejected Sebuhinja as their bishop and disassociated itself from the act by some Christians of dragging the Archbishop to court, reports Darious Magara.
They also formed a 15-strong committee that will forward to the House of Bishops two names for the post of bishop.
The meeting, chaired by Rt. Rev. Bishop Wilson Mutebi on behalf of Archbishop Livingstone Mpalanyi Nkoyooyo at St. Andrew’s Cathedral in Kisoro town recently, resolved to hold fresh nominations.
The committee, formerly the diocesan electoral college, is led by Edgar Tabaro. Its members include district chairman and head of laity Dr. Philemon Mateke, Canon John Bituguramye, Rev. Canon Baker Habimana and Verinda Sendegyeya.
Two years ago, Nkoyoyo took over Muhabura Diocese when succession wrangles ensued following the retirement of Bishop Ernest Shalita and the protests against of Sebuhinja’s consecration.
