KAMPALA City Council (KCC) has been ranked among institutions in Uganda with the lowest integrity.
Dr. Nkote Nabeta from the office of the Inspector General of Government, said they receive more than five complaints daily on the way KCC handles public affairs.
He was yesterday speaking at the Uganda Bureau of Statistics workshop on fighting corruption and administrative injustice through institutional strengthening in Kampala
“There are a lot of malpractices at KCC, especially when it comes to awarding tenders. Many of the complaints received are related to this.â€
Nabeta commended Bank of Uganda and the Uganda Bureau of Statistics for observing high integrity.
“Integrity is at the centre of checking public management. We have found out that its absence leads to corruption and administrative injustice in many institutions,†he added.
